Work at home

This page is here for students and parents to check what they might have missed if they are away from school.  It may not have all the work covered in class so students should also talk with me upon returning to school so I can give extra help in class.   You will find most of the information on this page will be found in your child's orange duotang that was sent home.

Use this document to ask questions.  You can also use the document in your orange duotang.

You can borrow books at the library, go on a book website or read the newspaper in the Publisac.

Don't forget to take the time to ask yourself some questions... it will help you better understand what you are reading.  You can ask an adult for help with the questions.

  • When you read with your child, help them make a picture of the word in their mind.

  • If a word is read incorrectly, practice writing the word.

  • If your child come across a new word, cut it in syllables or make the sound of the letters.

  • Help them make "liaison" between plural words (ex: les enfants, pronounce the "s" on "les" connect it to "enfants", said as lesenfants).

Practice reading and writing your sight words (mots de passe sheet is also in the orange duotang).  This will help you increase your speed when you read and write.
